Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
4+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience assisting in maintaining books for multiple legal entities, including intercompany activity
Working knowledge of construction, trades, mining, heavy equipment, or related industries preferred
QuickBooks and AP automation/invoice processing systems a plus
Advanced Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filters, and formula-driven schedules
Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills
High level of accuracy, efficiency, detail, and accountability

Job costing or project/WIP accounting experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Own assigned areas of the monthly close across multiple related entities — journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and roll-forward schedules — on a firm calendar
Maintain cash reconciliations, compliance reporting, general accounting, internal controls, and cost accounting.
Perform job-level cost accounting: allocate overhead, equipment, and labor to job classes and sites, and explain month-over-month movement in revenue and cost
Reconcile intercompany and related-party activity between affiliated entities
Support external audits needs by pulling supporting documentation
Document procedures and improve them — we expect recurring work to get faster and more reliable each cycle
This role requires both hands-on execution (reconciliations, month-end schedules, AP resolutions when needed) and analytical judgment (cost analysis, cutoff, and accruals).
