About The Position

The Senior Accountant of the Metal Solutions accounting team will be responsible for performing tasks across multiple ERPs and assisting with process and control standardization efforts across multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have exposure to multiple accounting systems and working with teams in a remote environment, while possessing strong analytical skills and being able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Reporting to the Metal Solutions Accounting Supervisor, the Senior Accountant will assist in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting the monthly accounting close and related tasks, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the monthly accounting close and related tasks, including but not limited to preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and performing other assigned duties. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist in enhancing the monthly close, consolidation, and internal reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a progression of responsibilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle R12, NetSuite, JDE, Epicor) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee daily general ledger activities across multiple ERPs
  • Conduct financial analysis of key metrics and generate reports to support management decisions
  • Prepare (and review) journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Division and Segment leadership
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Coordinate and assist with internal / external audit requests
  • Assist with developing and carrying out process improvement initiatives
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
