About The Position

Hi-Altitude Brands is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The company is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer supplement business whose products are sold through its website, Amazon, and Walmart. The team is fully remote and values autonomy, ownership, and results. This hands-on role owns the monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting while helping establish the processes and ERP foundation Finance needs as the company scales. The role combines transactional accounting, technical accounting, and reporting, and works closely with Operations and executive leadership. It reports to the Controller and offers a growth path to Assistant Controller. The role is responsible for AP/AR processing and invoicing, preparing monthly management reporting, supporting ERP selection and migration, documenting accounting workflows, coordinating with Operations on master data and inventory costing, applying GAAP judgment, maintaining internal controls, and preparing audit documentation. Success includes a timely, documented close with no reconciliation backlog; reliable monthly reporting; validated ERP data and chart of accounts plans; and a documented Controller coverage plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct ownership of month-end close and reconciliations.
  • Strong GAAP and technical accounting fundamentals, including revenue recognition and inventory costing.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software or an ERP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Comfort owning both hands-on transactional work, including AP/AR and invoicing, and higher-level reconciliation, reporting, and technical accounting.
  • Ability to build processes in an under-systemized environment.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP implementation or migration experience, including chart of accounts design, data migration, and UAT.
  • Experience at a growth-stage consumer products or direct-to-consumer company.
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing the CPA.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end balance sheet reconciliations using a documented close checklist.
  • Tie out accruals, prepaids, and deferred revenue, and prepare related monthly journal entries.
  • Shorten the month-end close cycle and document each step.
  • Run AP/AR processing, invoicing, and day-to-day transactional accounting.
  • Prepare the monthly management reporting package for the Controller and COO, and build consolidated KPI and variance reporting, including board- and investor-ready reporting as needs mature.
  • Support ERP selection and migration, including chart of accounts redesign, data migration validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Document accounting processes and workflows as the company moves away from manual tracking.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations on shared master data and inventory costing, including landed COGS.
  • Apply GAAP-level judgment to revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and inventory costing, and resolve technical accounting questions early.
  • Maintain internal controls and prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Build a documented coverage plan and serve as the primary backup for core Controller responsibilities.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $85,000–$100,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

  • Nine annual company holidays.
  • Paid vacation day on the employee’s birthday.
