About The Position

As a Senior Accountant at PICI, you will be a key driver of financial integrity within our high-impact mission to cure cancer. You will assist with ownership of the general ledger, lead reconciliation processes, and serve as a power user for NetSuite . You will ensure that every dollar—from philanthropic gifts to venture investments—is accounted. The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization driving the next generation of cancer treatment by accelerating the development of breakthrough immune therapies to turn all cancers into curable diseases. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • NetSuite Expertise: Knowledge of NetSuite or similar accounting system in a corporate or nonprofit environment.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to life sciences, biotech, or large-scale nonprofits.
  • In addition to NetSuite experience, advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
  • Willingness to work on all ranges of tasks, from data entry into the accounting system to high level projects with management

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of AS C606 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of activities, and statement of functional expenses. This includes variance analysis and ad hoc management reporting.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures. Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP and IRS 501(c)(3) standards for nonprofit reporting.
  • Assist with external auditors, preparing necessary documentation for annual audits, and ensuring timely tax filings.
  • Assist with weekly accounts payable runs.
  • Assist with invoice preparation and monitoring of the receivable accounts.
  • Oversee bi-monthly payroll processing and reconciliation. Assist with reconciliation of payroll taxes, 403b, and benefits.
  • Responsible for all bank accounts, remaining balance sheet account reconciliations, as well as tie out to payroll register, benefits, Salesforce for donations, and any other reconciliation to ensure financial integrity.
  • Assist with investment monitoring, metrics and collection of quarterly data. Annually participate in compiling data for the external investment review memo.
  • Responsible for documenting key controls, desktop procedures, and key technical accounting memos.
