About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to own key accounting functions and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting with a focus on the expense side of the P&L. This role will be responsible for clinic-level spend analysis, accruals, prepaid expense management, accounts payable oversight (bill pay, corporate cards, spend program management, reimbursements), lease accounting, and fixed asset management, and providing additional support across financial reporting and administrative accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with accrual accounting, prepaid expense management, and/or AP processes
  • Experience managing or supporting spend programs and employee reimbursement workflows
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and expense recognition principles, including ASC 842
  • Experience with fixed asset accounting and subledger management
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Comfortable analyzing spend data and summarizing insights for stakeholders
  • Able to partner cross-functionally with AP, Operations, Clinic, and Real Estate teams
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly close process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.
  • Assist with budget vs. actual analysis and management reporting, with a focus on operating expense line items.
  • Provide variance explanations and commentary on key expense drivers to support leadership decision-making.
  • Help build and maintain reporting tools or schedules that increase visibility into expense performance across locations.
  • Own the monthly accrual process, including AP accruals, corporate card expenses, and employee reimbursements, ensuring completeness and accuracy at close.
  • Prepare and review monthly prepaid expense amortization schedules and corresponding journal entries.
  • Maintain and improve supporting schedules and documentation for prepaid and accrued liability accounts.
  • Ensure accurate expense cutoff and recognition in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reconcile prepaid and accrued expense balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and provide flux commentary.
  • Partner with the AP team to ensure accurate vendor payment coding, completeness, and timely processing.
  • Review and monitor AP aging to identify issues and ensure proper period cutoff.
  • Own clinic-level expense analysis, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control or process improvement, and investigating expense questions raised by clinic managers.
  • Assist in managing the corporate card program, including transaction coding, reconciliation, and policy compliance.
  • Own the management of spend programs (e.g., purchasing cards, vendor accounts), ensuring proper controls, utilization tracking, and policy adherence.
  • Manage the employee reimbursement process end-to-end, including review, approval workflows, accurate coding, and timely payment.
  • Support the implementation of controls and scalable processes to improve AP accuracy and efficiency.
  • Serve as the accounting point of contact for clinic managers on expense-related questions, coding guidance, and spend reporting.
  • Maintain the company’s ASC 842 lease accounting schedule, including initial recognition, ongoing amortization, and remeasurement of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
  • Manage lease data and schedules within NetLease, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all clinic and corporate locations.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for lease assets and liabilities.
  • Monitor lease modifications, renewals, and terminations and ensure proper accounting treatment under ASC 842.
  • Own the fixed asset subledger using NetSuite’s fixed asset module, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and transfers.
  • Reconcile fixed asset accounts monthly and maintain supporting schedules for capex and depreciation.
  • Partner with Operations and Real Estate teams to track new clinic build-outs and ensure timely asset capitalization.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and increase close efficiency.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures to support a scalable and audit-ready environment.
  • Support audit requests and provide documentation and variance explanations as needed.
  • Contribute to system improvements, integrations, and workflow automation as the business scales.
  • Evaluate existing processes across lease accounting, fixed assets, AP, and expense management for opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Support new clinic onboarding from an accounting perspective, including entity setup, chart of accounts mapping, and coordination with Operations.
  • Assist with vendor setup and payment configuration for new locations.
  • Help establish spend controls, reimbursement workflows, and expense reporting for newly opened clinics.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Real Estate, Operations, HR) to ensure accounting readiness ahead of clinic launches.
  • Assist with other administrative accounting tasks and ad hoc projects as the business continues to grow.
