Rosendin Electric is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the General Accounting team to provide support in various accounting functions within the company. Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of accounting processes and principles
  • Experience with a large ERP system preferred.
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business-related
  • 5+ years’ experience in finance or accounting
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month and year end close process including general journal entries, accruals, account analysis and reconciliation (fixed assets, cash, prepaids, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for management.
  • Prepare and upload various journal entries daily as well as ensuring all transactions are carried out in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis of corporate overhead expenditures against budget, problem-solve any discrepancies and to report any findings to management.
  • Train and mentor junior level finance staff as well as reviewing junior staff work for accuracy.
  • Review monthly accounting close processes including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Assist with various aspects of external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and reviewing outstanding items lists.
  • Provide ad hoc support to Finance management as necessary.
