About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and ensuring timely payment of approved vendor invoices and employee expense reports. This role involves preparing and posting journal entries, performing month-end and year-end close activities, reconciling general ledger accounts, and analyzing financial data. The Senior Accountant will also assist in preparing financial statements, maintaining internal controls, supporting audits, collaborating with business partners, generating reports, identifying process improvements, and supporting budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, this position will mentor junior accounting staff and participate in special projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
  • Familiarity with Accounts Payable processes
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Tableau/Python a plus
  • CPA NOT required but a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Review, process, and ensure timely payment of approved vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with business partners and department leaders to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
  • Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting operations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis activities as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, assisting with training and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives as assigned.
