About The Position

The Boeing Company is hiring a Senior Accountant to support the Aerospace Composite Center Accounting group located in Hazelwood, MO. The Aerospace Composites Center (a non-fully integrated subsidiary of The Boeing Company) has state-of-the-art enabled capabilities and operates to support Boeing’s Fighter Programs. We invest in our skilled workforce, systems, and infrastructure to build innovative cutting-edge products with flawless execution. In this role, ensuring adherence to both internal and external regulation is a paramount responsibility as there tends to be a lot of focus around labor cost. As a business partner support function, this group routinely interacts with a variety of program finance groups and accounting groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience accounting, finance, business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of the following financial systems: Cognos, Interactive Reporting Environment (IRE), Enterprise Analysis System (EAS), Cost Schedule Performance Reporting (CSPR), Enterprise Planning and Analysis System (EPAS)
  • Experience leading a team or a project
  • Experience in Government Accounting
  • Experience communicating across organizations with suppliers and leadership

Responsibilities

  • Researches, prepares, reviews, and reconciles financial statements and reports
  • Analyzes and mitigates compliance risks and errors of a complex nature, to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations
  • Interprets and analyzes complex directives, policies, and regulatory requirements, providing invaluable recommendations on new and existing accounting issues
  • Uses cost accounting expertise, identifying and communicating cost collection requirements while developing, implementing, and maintaining cost accounting structures, systems, and tools
  • Supports the development and deployment of changes to accounting tools and processes, using your adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate through complex challenges
  • Supports financial reporting, material costs, labor costs, intercompany transactions, banking, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), and capital expenditures
