About The Position

A growing live entertainment company operating venues and producing large-scale events is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. Wilmington, NC is preferred, but the company is open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. This is a broad, hands-on opportunity to own accounting across multiple entities while working directly with senior finance leadership to strengthen close, reporting, controls, and systems as the business scales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Hands-on multi-entity accounting experience
  • Experience managing intercompany transactions and allocations
  • Hands-on experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns
  • Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
  • Hands-on experience with a multi-entity cloud ERP such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Acumatica, Dynamics 365 Business Central, or a comparable platform
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation work
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
  • High attention to detail and strong accounting judgment
  • Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and follow issues through resolution
  • Ability to manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Sage Intacct experience, particularly with dimensions and multi-entity functionality
  • Accounting experience within live entertainment, venues, festivals, hospitality, sports, or another multi-site or event-driven organization
  • Familiarity with event settlements
  • Experience with venue-level P&Ls
  • Experience with per-event revenue recognition
  • Understanding of seasonal or event-driven cash cycles
  • Experience documenting accounting SOPs
  • ERP implementation, optimization, or systems-improvement experience
  • Experience supporting external tax preparers or auditors with organized schedules and documentation
  • Experience helping strengthen internal controls and approval workflows
  • Interest and capability to grow into an Accounting Manager role as the organization expands

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple business entities
  • Prepare customer invoices, monitor collections, and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and allocations
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity across a growing portfolio of entities
  • Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns across multiple states
  • Maintain vendor records, W-9s, contracts, and documentation supporting 1099 compliance
  • Take meaningful ownership of month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, schedules, and GL accuracy
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages
  • Partner directly with the SVP of Finance & Operations to improve close timing, reporting quality, and financial accuracy
  • Support continued optimization of Sage Intacct and related accounting workflows
  • Help strengthen a multi-entity accounting environment as the company's portfolio expands
  • Document and improve accounting SOPs
  • Help develop stronger internal controls, including segregation of duties and approval workflows
  • Maintain organized schedules and supporting documentation for external tax and audit partners
  • Coordinate with venue and operations teams on payments, vendor compliance, and financial workflows
  • Identify opportunities to make accounting processes more efficient, scalable, and reliable

  • Base salary of $80,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience
