About The Position

The Senior Accountant position is a key, newly created role for our growing accounting team. We are building a high-performing accounting team to support the reporting requirements, internal control structure, and transactional processing of our rapidly growing and dynamic business. The Company operates in multiple locations across the Southeastern Unites States and has a long track record of business acquisitions. This role will also support integration of acquired businesses with our newly implemented NetSuite ERP platform. The ideal candidate for the role will be an individual with strong accounting experience who is flexible, willing and able to work at multiple levels from hands-on detailed tasks to higher level review and supervision. The ideal candidate will also be self-driven and adept at managing multiple priorities with a problem-solving mindset to overcome obstacles. This role is hybrid in our Winter Park office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4-5 years of accounting experience (internships count!) that includes month-end close responsibilities
  • Experience working with NetSuite
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Solid technical accounting skills and understanding
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post detailed journal entries with accurate, detailed supporting schedules
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including intercompany accounts across multiple entities, and resolve variances
  • Ensure compliance with month-end close process tasks
  • Proactively investigate accounting variances, addressing root cause, processing corrections
  • Continuously assess NetSuite workflows, identify efficiency improvements and lead change implementation (cross-functionally as necessary)
  • Closely manage cross-functional relationships to ensure financial data is properly captured
  • Map and plan import of acquired business financial data into NetSuite
  • Fulfill annual audit requests for supporting documentation and control testing
  • Create Excel files (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) necessary to supplement NetSuite reporting to support accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Sales/use/property tax filings
  • Manage compliance with business-related registrations and license filings
  • Perform frequent ad hoc analyses that require analytical skills
