About The Position

Quanta is an AI-powered finance platform built for fast-growing companies. Every company relies on accounting as its source of truth, but the tools today are manual, fragmented, and not designed for how modern businesses operate. We're building the system of record for finance - one that owns the data layer and uses AI to automate and abstract away the operational burden. The result is a real-time, intelligent financial backbone that goes far beyond traditional accounting software. Many of today's fastest-growing startups - Braintrust, Browserbase, Mintlify - rely on Quanta as their financial foundation. Our team includes CPAs, controllers, finance operators, and engineers who have spent their careers building and using financial systems. We've built accounting infrastructure at companies like Affirm, Stripe, and Robinhood, scaled finance teams from one to dozens, and built products from 0→1. We've experienced month-end closes that take too long, reconciliations that require too much manual work, and accounting tools that force teams to work around their software instead of with it. Accountants deserve software that's built around the way accounting actually works, not just software that stores transactions. We work directly with real accounting workflows and real customer data to eliminate repetitive work, automate complex processes, and give finance teams confidence in their numbers. We are defining the Operational Ledger, a new financial foundation for how businesses truly understand themselves. Today, that means we do the accounting ourselves for a focused set of customers. This is not a go-to-market shortcut. It is how we learn where existing systems fail, where judgment is required, and where automation actually creates leverage. Because we operate directly on real financial data and real workflows, our iteration loop is tight. We solve concrete automation problems that exist today, not hypothetical problems framed around what AI might do someday. The product evolves directly from what breaks, what repeats, and what slows teams down in practice. This approach lets us build systems that are correct, explainable, and ready to support much more powerful interaction layers over time. The goal is not just faster accounting. It is to establish a financial source of truth that can support querying, modeling, and plain-language exploration with confidence. This is not a traditional accounting role. It’s an opportunity for an experienced accountant to work at intersection of Accounting, Customer Experience, and Product, shaping the future of finance and accounting software. You’ll work directly with ambitious, fast-growing companies and help redefine what great finance and accounting operations look like with the support of Quanta’s modern accounting technology. Our customers are finance leaders building modern companies and you've likely been one yourself. You know the frustrations of broken processes, manual work, and disconnected tools. That's exactly the perspective we want at the center of our product and our customer experience. As an early member of Quanta’s Accounting Operations team, you’ll play a foundational role in how we support customers and how our product evolves. You’ll work side by side with Engineering and Product to turn real workflow pain in software, automation, and better systems.

Requirements

2+ years of Accounting experience at a fast growing start up
Passionate about delivering a world class customer experience and enjoys working closely with founders and accounting teams to help them understand their finances
Experience working with the modern fintech stack e.g. Ramp, Brex, Mercury, Rippling, Gusto
Strong interest in using AI to reimagine how accounting work gets done, not just make existing processes faster
A proven record of using AI to build scalable systems and processes
Ability to navigate large, complex datasets
Strong technical understanding of US GAAP
Excited to build an early stage company from 0 to 1, contributing in ways beyond accounting
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex accounting concepts for customers, engineers, and product teams
Excited about working in-person with a collaborative team in our San Francisco office

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to close their books and level up their accounting operations
Act as a trusted partner to finance leaders, advising them as they scale their companies.
Guide customers through onboarding and implementation, helping them get up and running quickly
Partner closely with Engineering and Product to build the accounting software you’ve always wished existed
Create your own tools, automations, and AI workflows to improve how both you and our customers work
Turn customer pain points into product insight, helping shape what we build and why
Help define what Accounting Operations looks like at Quanta as we grow
