About The Position

This position involves coordinating, implementing, and overseeing complex accounting activities such as journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting, as well as assisting with the budget process. The role also includes training, teaching, and providing daily supervision to staff accountants, accounting specialists, accounting technicians, and accounting interns. The Senior Accountant will review recorded journal entries and monthly financial statements to identify variances and ensure fair statement. More complex or judgmental accounting areas will be completed with oversight from the Accounting Manager and Accounting Director. This is a fully remote position.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting with 15 years of experience or Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 2 years of applicable experience
• Bachelor's Degree - Accounting

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, implements, and oversees the entities complex accounting activities including journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations, compliance with GAAP accounting, financial reporting requirements, and assistance with budget process
• Training, teaching, and providing daily supervision of staff accountants, accounting specialists, accounting technicians, and accounting interns
• Reviews recorded journal entries and monthly financial statements, identifying unusual or significant variances in order to ensure financial statements are fairly stated
• Completion of accounting areas that are more complex or judgmental in nature with oversight from Accounting Manager and Accounting Director
