About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for the Company’s accounts, such as cash, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable/revenue, prepaids and accruals. This role will work closely with the accounting department to ensure accounting records are prepared and reviewed timely and accurately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment and financial reporting.
  • Experienced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team focused environment.
  • Strong organization and detail orientation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Prior ASC842 lease accounting experience is highly preferred
  • NetSuite or similar ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and record accounting transactions for company activity in support of monthly accounting close.
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of journal entries for critical accounting areas, including revenue and lease accounting.
  • Assist with revenue accounting process including preparation of monthly invoices, accrual entries, reconciliations, and variance analytics.
  • Review lease contracts and populate key terms within lease software.
  • Partner with Facilities & AP department regarding lease activity and fixed asset capitalization.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate monthly invoicing and customer communication.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for higher risk balance sheet accounts.
  • Identify and implement efficiency opportunities in accounting processes.
  • Prepare accounting analyses on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Assist with Company’s internal control processes to ensure internal controls are implemented and appropriately evidenced on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within the department.
