We are seeking a Senior Accountant to own the end-to-end processes related to capital asset management and reporting. This role will also support the IWBC Finance team in other areas as assigned by management. A successful candidate will be equally comfortable maintaining a clean set of accounting records, working through challenging analytics and building relationships with business partners across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an asset intensive business manufacturing, beverage production, or distribution environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and clearly communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven experience partnering and collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders.
  • Effective communicator with a positive, proactive, and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to learn, streamline processes, and drive results.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or active CPA candidate would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital asset accounting and Capital Work-in-Progress (CIP) tracking across winery infrastructure and multi-year vineyard development projects.
  • Accountable for intercompany construction accounting, including the validation of labor allocations, contractor recharges, and equipment billing from non-arms-length entities.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including fixed-asset reconciliations, working papers, and general ledger account analysis.
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate asset ledger providing guidance in accordance with IFRS on asset acquisition, creation and disposition.
  • Partner with stakeholders in the asset requisition process, including assisting with ROI and cost benefit analysis.
  • Support annual capital budgeting, insurance reporting, and ad-hoc capital financial analysis.
  • Assist with month-end, year-end, and audit-related requests and inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain capital asset accounting procedures, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Participate in operational efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
