We are seeking a Senior Accountant to own the end-to-end processes related to capital asset management and reporting. This role will also support the IWBC Finance team in other areas as assigned by management. A successful candidate will be equally comfortable maintaining a clean set of accounting records, working through challenging analytics and building relationships with business partners across the organization.

Requirements

3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an asset intensive business manufacturing, beverage production, or distribution environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience working with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and clearly communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Proven experience partnering and collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders.
Effective communicator with a positive, proactive, and customer-focused approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to learn, streamline processes, and drive results.

Nice To Haves

CPA designation or active CPA candidate would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Manage capital asset accounting and Capital Work-in-Progress (CIP) tracking across winery infrastructure and multi-year vineyard development projects.
Accountable for intercompany construction accounting, including the validation of labor allocations, contractor recharges, and equipment billing from non-arms-length entities.
Perform month-end close activities, including fixed-asset reconciliations, working papers, and general ledger account analysis.
Maintain an up to date and accurate asset ledger providing guidance in accordance with IFRS on asset acquisition, creation and disposition.
Partner with stakeholders in the asset requisition process, including assisting with ROI and cost benefit analysis.
Support annual capital budgeting, insurance reporting, and ad-hoc capital financial analysis.
Assist with month-end, year-end, and audit-related requests and inquiries.
Develop and maintain capital asset accounting procedures, documentation, and SOPs.
Participate in operational efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
