About The Position

Wolf is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its NGL business. This role is responsible for various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting & Finance Supervisor, NGL, and will work closely with the Wolf NGL leadership team to ensure the optimization of the company’s asset base. The successful candidate’s duties will involve accounting, finance, treasury, and reporting. In addition, they will be expected to provide meaningful input into data management, administration, business processes, and internal controls, with a great opportunity to mentor other team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting designation with at least 3 years relevant experience
  • Proven proficiency with Excel and strong general systems aptitude
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate accounting practices, procedures, and systems with a strong understanding of IFRS
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A willingness to learn, grow and develop and to assist wherever needed is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and Power BI experience
  • Knowledge of the NGL business and the midstream industry

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly financial reporting process, including month-end close, management reporting, variance analysis and forecasts
  • Responsible for various month-end tasks, including the preparation of accounting vouchers, accruals, bank reconciliations, GST filings, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly cash forecasts, maintain the cash ledger and support the accounts payable process, including payment runs
  • Assist with monthly and ad hoc revenue invoicing and accruals in coordination with the Wolf NGL Commercial Team
  • Partner with the Project Controls Team to deliver timely, accurate capital spending forecasts, reporting, and analytical insights for leadership meetings
  • Coordinate across teams to support the annual budget process
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting workbooks, including IFRS adjustments and tax provisions
  • Liaise with external auditors for commercial, greenhouse gas emissions and annual financial audits, including the preparation of technical accounting memorandums
  • Assist with preparing the quarterly Board Reporting Package, acting as liaison with corporate teams
  • Ensure the internal control environment is adhered to, documented, and continually assessed for effectiveness; recommend and implement improvements as necessary
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the Wolf NGL business
  • Assist with special projects including process improvement identification and implementation, ad hoc financial analysis and other projects as required
