About The Position

Surface Preparation Technologies (SPT) is a leader in highway safety, with offices in Pennsylvania and Texas. Its sister companies provide highway safety services including line striping, traffic control, and permanent signage. The Senior Accountant brings accounting skills, investigation, consistency, and a customer-service focus to a team supporting the rest of the company. The position is based at the corporate office in New Kingstown, Pennsylvania, and reports to the Controller.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting.
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Excel proficiency.
Self-motivated and eager to learn.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
Team player willing to pitch in and take on assigned tasks.
Interest in improving current processes and making them more efficient.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Public accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare a weekly financial snapshot for management.
Assist with cash forecasting and reconciliations.
Assist with credit card administration and integration with accounting software.
Prepare month-end close entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed assets.
Maintain construction-in-process accounts.
Maintain inventory and perform monthly cycle counts.
Prepare various tax filings and registrations.
Own the lifecycle of larger projects.
Support the external audit process.
Assist in strengthening internal controls.
Help create efficiencies in processes and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service to internal customers, including operations and other support departments.
Perform other analyses and tasks as necessary or assigned.
