We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Midwest Region team and help support our rapidly growing portfolio of operating companies. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving month‑end close, supporting acquisitions, and preparing the region for a Big 4–level audit. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred
  • Experience supporting companies with $300M+ revenues (ideally $1B+)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and US GAAP proficiency
  • Ability to prepare a general ledger function for Big 4 audit standards
  • Excellent communication skills with both accounting and non‑accounting partners
  • High‑energy, positive attitude, strong initiative, and desire to grow

Nice To Haves

  • Mix of public accounting + industry experience
  • Experience in home services/trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or Sage Intacct

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage month‑end close activities across ~30 operating brands.
  • Oversee complex reconciliations including intercompany, acquisition activity, and accruals.
  • Own confidential/complex areas of the close, such as payroll posting and employee‑related reconciliations.
  • Resolve escalated accounting issues from local brands.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit readiness and help elevate GL structure and processes for a Big 4 level audit.
  • Assist in accounting integration for newly acquired entities, including purchase accounting.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, AP, AR, Treasury, and Operations.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
