About The Position

The Senior Accountant at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the overall efficiency of financial processes. The Senior Accountant will contribute to strategic financial planning and decision-making, supporting the center's mission to provide exceptional behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in business required
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in computer systems and software applications with at least 2-3 years experience in business and computer systems and software required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support financial planning.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Support the finance team with special projects and initiatives aimed at improving financial processes and systems.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the organization's financial practices remain compliant.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
