About The Position
This position is responsible for sewing turnout gear in accordance with job specifications. The role requires effective maintenance and operation of a sewing machine, adherence to supervisor instructions to meet delivery deadlines, and collaboration with the team to ensure products are made correctly and of good quality. Maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping in the sewing area is also a key responsibility. The Sewer Level 1 must meet sewing productivity and quality targets for the cell, follow supervisor, safety, and work instructions, and be able to read work instructions. Adherence to company behaviors, rules, and policies is mandatory. The role may involve lifting objects up to 30 lbs using correct lifting techniques, and requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, and folding as needed. Mandatory overtime may be required on Fridays and/or Saturdays. The ability to work well in a team setting and exhibit a positive attitude is essential.
