About The Position

The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting and finance team members to support the company’s accounting operations. This role will maintain accurate financial records, assist with month‑end close and provide analysis, monitoring, and reporting on costs associated with production, inventory, and operations to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with focus in cost accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to understand standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
  • Prior experience with GAAP
  • Advanced abilities in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Prior experience with ERP systems, ideally Epicor
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or operational accounting experience
  • Demonstrated ability to complete month‑end close processes, reconciliations and journal entries

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.)
  • Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Analyze manufacturing and operational costs, including material, labor, and overhead
  • Develop and maintain standard cost systems and cost accounting procedures
  • Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and margins (PPV, usage, labor, overhead)
  • Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accuracy of WIP, finished goods, and raw materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support audits and internal controls
  • Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
  • Participate in process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, HR, Supply Chain, Finance)
  • Other duties as assigned
