Senior Accountant

Mission EdgeSan Diego, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Your numbers move missions forward. Most accounting jobs close the books and move on. This one is different. At Mission Edge, the ledgers you manage belong to the nonprofits and community programs we support through fiscal sponsorship — organizations tackling real problems in San Diego and beyond. When you get their financials right, they spend less time worrying about compliance and more time doing the work that matters. Your precision is their freedom to focus. We're a nonprofit that runs like a social enterprise. Since 2012 we've helped more than 500 organizations become stronger, more sustainable, and more impactful through HR, accounting, and fiscal sponsorship. Our fiscal sponsorship practice is our fastest-growing line of business, and we're hiring a Senior Accountant to grow with it. Why this role is a great one: You'll see your impact. Every reconciliation, every clean report, every closed month directly frees up a mission-driven organization to do more good. You'll grow fast. Fiscal sponsorship means dozens of programs, each with its own story. You'll build range and depth that a single-entity accounting job can't offer. You'll be trusted, not micromanaged. You'll own your work, report directly to our Controller, and have room to find the better way — because we're an entrepreneurial team that doesn't settle for “how it's always been done.” You'll actually have a life. Hybrid schedule, generous PTO, and paid time off to volunteer for causes you care about.
