The Senior Accountant serves as a key business partner to Business Unit Controllers, Finance Leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders, supporting the Door & Window Systems (D&WS) business unit as well as other Americas and Corporate functions. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, delivering timely and accurate financial information, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles in a dynamic environment, including software and services-based revenue streams. A successful candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, Power BI or similar tools preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment
  • Highly motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to travel less than 5% when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted business partner and financial resource to D&WS and other assigned business units, collaborating with Controllers, FP&A, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and other cross-functional teams
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in accordance with company policies
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to business partners to support decision-making
  • Prepare and review financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Maintain the accuracy of ERP systems, including chart of accounts and financial mappings
  • Assist with system implementations, enhancements, and process automation initiatives
  • Develop and utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate) to analyze large datasets and improve reporting efficiency
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment and compliance with SOX requirements, including participation in control testing and documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization and efficiency gains across business units
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as required
