About The Position

The Senior Accountant position is based in St Louis, MO and part of a larger team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the business. This role performs month-end and year-end closing activities, prepares financial reports, reconciles accounts, assists with budgeting and cash management, and ensures compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant works closely with management to provide timely financial information and analysis that supports business decisions while helping to maintain efficient accounting processes and internal controls. The Senior Accountant also performs accounts payable and receivable activities, assist with payroll processing, coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors, and support various administrative and operational functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field or a combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in internal / private accounting
  • Strong data analytics, budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in public accounting a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage and reconcile all G/L accounts and subsidiary ledgers (if applicable).
  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards.
  • Assist in establishing financial and operating benchmarks and reporting standards on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors and prepare interim and year end audit schedules.
  • Work closely with executive team and managers to ensure that company-wide operation is efficient and effective.
  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
