Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Examine accounting activities to confirm compliance with required state and federal rules
  • Track grant activity and verify reporting, matching, and closing steps for assigned programs
  • Prepare federal financial statements and other key reports for regular and annual cycles
  • Guide projects and improve procedures while supporting the unit manager
  • Support and direct assigned staff to strengthen team performance
  • Collaborate with auditors and review findings to protect federal funding
