About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions that support the Company’s financial reporting, manufacturing operations, and financial analysis. This role plays a key part in the day-to-day accounting duties as well as the month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Available to work overtime to support month-end and year-end close deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and manage depreciation entries.
  • Assist with multi-entity consolidations and eliminating entries.
  • Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Support month-end close for inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing overhead.
  • Support cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
  • Assist with the day-to-day accounting functions related to accounts receivable including but not limited to customer onboarding, ensuring sales tax is collected accurately, and collections.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, and operational variances.
  • Support with budgeting and forecasting when requested.
  • Assist management with various reports and financial analyses.
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Assist with tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other compliance-related requirements as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through technology and automation and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Support ERP maintenance, data accuracy initiatives, and financial system enhancements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects affecting financial operations.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for accounting staff.
  • Assist with training in accounting procedures and best practices.
  • Provide backup support to the Accounts Payable Specialist and other accounting staff as needed.
