Wallace is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial operations. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
- 4 - 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with grant accounting, nonprofit, and/or healthcare environments preferred
- Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct or Sage 100 preferred) and payroll systems (ADP preferred)
Responsibilities
- Manage complex general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Play a significant role in the month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure accurate accrual-based accounting in compliance with GAAP
- Reconcile bank accounts, clinic cash, benefit accounts, and interrelated balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and review financial reports related to grants and restricted funding
- Track grant spending and forecasting; collaborate with program leads on monthly reviews
- Assist with grant onboarding, budget development, and compliance requirements
- Maintain grant documentation and support grant-related audits and funder requests
- Support annual financial audits, including reconciliations, schedules, and auditor inquiries
- Assist with maintaining strong internal controls and identifying process improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit, healthcare, and grant related financial requirements
- Reconcile Epic accounts receivable activity to the general ledger
- Manage donor-related accounting in coordination with development systems (e.g., Bloomrang)
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Participate in finance projects, system enhancements, and documentation efforts
- Work with human resources to tighten internal controls between ADP and Payroll
- Serve as a backup for payroll-related journal entries as needed
