About The Position

The Transactions team at Welltower is a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative accounting group focused on a wide range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and other strategic investments. This role offers exposure to complex, high-impact transactions in a non-traditional accounting environment. This position is primarily responsible for preparing transaction-related journal entries, drafting transaction accounting memos, and coordinating transaction integration with internal teams and third-party operators. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment, timely execution, and effective communication throughout the transaction lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to grow within a challenging and fast-moving environment. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• Work experience of at least three years
• Knowledge of accounting theory, including GAAP and IFRS, is strongly desired
• Familiarity with real estate and international experience is a plus
• Professional certification of CPA or equivalent is strongly desired
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel in addition to having the ability to learn new software
• Strong team player with a focus towards customer service
• Ability to self-motivate and work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to identify and implement process improvement
• Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner

Responsibilities

• Review executed legal agreements for accounting implications
• Assist with technical accounting research and document conclusions within accounting memorandums
• Prepare journal entries for acquisitions, disposition, and other investment activity
• Assist in creation of new investment structures in Welltower’s financial reporting systems
• Develop and maintain accounting estimation models
• Monitor financial results of various investment structures
• Collaborate with other departments (Tax, Investments, Finance) on appropriate accounting treatment for various investment structures
• Collaborate with other accounting teams (such as Leases, Loans, Property accounting, and Partnerships) on the recording of transactions
• Assist in preparation of quarterly external reporting disclosures
