About The Position

Wealthsimple is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 3+ years of experience and a CPA designation (or one in progress) to manage and account for credit card-related financial operations. This role involves taking ownership of financial integrity, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The position is within a high-impact, collaborative finance team that supports new product launches and ensures the financial integrity of Wealthsimple's products. The team values seamless communication and works closely with cross-functional partners to provide clear financial insights.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience
• CPA designation (or working towards completion of CPA designation)
• Experience with IFRS and strong familiarity with product accounting principles including revenue recognition
• Excellent communicator who can break down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand language that builds trust and rapport
• Naturally curious: if something seems off, you want to figure out what’s going on
• Pays close attention to details and thoroughly reviews their own work
• Adaptable and able to thrive in fast-paced, constantly changing environments

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Netsuite is an asset

Responsibilities

• Manage and account for SimpleTax, Wealthsimple Mortgages, and Wealthsimple Cash products.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including product analysis and month-over-month variance analysis.
• Play a key role in building and implementing new accounting processes for new product launches.
• Prepare monthly accruals and account reconciliations to ensure accurate and complete financial statements.
• Support the month-end close process.
• Assist in developing and documenting new accounting policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain relationships with Operations and Data teams to ensure seamless communication and accurate reporting.
