About The Position

A. Harold and Associates, LLC (AHA) is a federal contractor seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager to support its team and drive accounting operations. This individual will be the primary accounting lead for the small company, playing a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting support. This is a part-time, hybrid position based in Jacksonville, FL, requiring at least one in-office day per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 5 years + of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Advance Proficiency in Microsoft excel.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting ERP systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, communicational and organizational skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification (including E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with Government contract accounting a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS).
  • Proficiency in Acquisition pricing, preparing Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and interpreting requirements.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Allocate costs to indirect rate pools.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and DCAA audit compliance.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and monthly reporting to executives.
  • Ensure internal controls are maintained and support external audits by providing requested documentation and analysis.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for accounts payable/receivable, payroll and contracts.
  • Assist with annual corporate tax filings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and administrate 401k retirement plan.
  • Assist outside CPA with annual review and financial statement preparations, tax prep and 401k Audit.
  • Serve as primary POC for banking relationship and reporting as needed.
  • Handle billing and invoicing; monitor funding needed by contract.
  • Manage contract budget maintenance.
  • Manage CBA employees, compliance and negotiations.
  • Manage SCA employee compliance.
  • Provide payroll back up as secondary support.
  • Manage cash flow and bill pay.
  • Set up new contracts and modifications in all systems.
  • Administer timekeeping.
  • Assist with government and commercial contracts drafting, negotiation, management, and administration.
  • Assist with contracts audit and its applications.
  • Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal.
  • Assist legal advisors regarding CBA negotiations.
