About The Position

We are growing and looking for a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Energix US Finance team; if you have the experience and can-do attitude, we invite you to help us make the world greener and to take part in our hyper-growth process. The Senior Accountant, Portfolio Accounting is responsible for managing the financial activities of all legal entities in a portfolio. This includes maintaining books and records, financial reporting, portfolio level analysis, invoice review, and tax support. Candidates should have 4-5+ years of experience, ideal experience would be a combination of public accounting and industry experience. Financial Reporting – including preparation of full balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow experience is ideal. The Senior Accountant will be based in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. This role will be reporting to the Controller/ Portfolio Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • Experienced and curious senior accountant with at least 4-5 years of experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Independent, discrete, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, with a positive and can-do attitude.
  • CPA or equivalent is strongly preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, finance or relevant field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at a multinational company preferred.
  • Experience with integrated ERP solutions (Oracle Fusion) preferred.
  • Experience in the field of renewable energy is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Books and Records for all legal entities in a portfolio, including closing journal entries, reconciliations, and closing FS workbooks.
  • Ensure IFRS and GAAP Financial Reporting at the Portfolio level, and ensure compliance to Tax Equity, Lenders, and Parent level reporting.
  • Provide support for Portfolio level audits; assist in drafting footnotes for audited financials.
  • Conduct Portfolio level analysis, comparing actual results to prior periods and budget.
  • Review Portfolio level invoices accounting and monthly pay runs (AP ageing, AR ageing, etc.).
  • Review AR invoices before issuance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support Portfolio level cash activities, including contributions, distributions, intercompany settlements, and debt service.
  • Provide Tax support, assist in the maintenance of HLBV tracking models and partnership level tax returns.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial Asset Management team and Operation and Maintenance team on the company’s operational activities.
  • Understand all major contracts for portfolios and the related accounting considerations.
  • Document key significant transactions in accounting memos.
  • Provide accounting support for budgets, project financing, etc.
