About The Position

LaSalle Investment Management is currently seeking a Portfolio Accountant. This individual will serve in a supporting role to help manage a significant portion of the accounting and reporting process for several estate investment portfolios reporting under Fair Value GAAP. This individual will report to the Portfolio Controller.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and independently develop solutions to problems
  • Effectiveness in reviewing own work to achieve high levels of accuracy
  • Extremely organized multi-tasker
  • Team player who works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts
  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of AI tools (either in a work or home context) with a demonstrated interest in applying them in a professional context
  • Openness to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technology environment; willingness to evaluate, pilot and champion new AI tools as part of the team’s ongoing process improvement agenda
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation is preferred. Candidate will be expected to achieve CPA in order to qualify for future progression

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the quarterly, and annual accounting closes
  • Post journal entries and complete bank reconciliations
  • Complete quarterly financial analysis and review quarterly financial statements provided by co-investment managers
  • Prepare financial statements and related footnotes
  • Identify and lead AI-driven process improvement projects across the accounting and reporting cycle, including automating recurring tasks and building efficiencies in financial statement preparation
  • Prepare third party consultant reports
  • Accurately calculate, interpret, and communicate financial performance returns
  • Accurately complete cash management transactions and cash tracking
  • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements, as well as year-end audit and tax requirements
  • Create efficiency in and effectiveness of the financial reporting process as well as improve client services
  • Take initiative in identifying problems and providing suggested solutions
  • Assist with various special projects as assigned
