About The Position

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant ideally to be based in our Chicago office, but open to be located in other Dentons U.S. locations. Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Partner Accounting and Tax, this role will assist in the various aspects related to partner accounting, tax, and compensation analysis. The current working structure is a hybrid of working from home and working from the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Accounting and/or Tax experience.
  • Law Firm or Professional Services experience.
  • Working experience with Elite Enterprise/3E is a plus.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both within the internal team and to the Partners of the Firm.
  • Strong time management and organization skills. The ability to be able to prioritize work.
  • Must show strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive or confidential information.
  • Should show ambition for continued learning and growth
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills. Must be able to utilize Excel and formulas to complete tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Public accounting background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of partner compensation and draw schedules
  • Assist in partner payroll and reconciling partner draws
  • Manage partner capital accounts
  • Perform monthly and quarterly special pay agreement calculations
  • Prepare and file sales & use, gross receipts, and other various taxes
  • Prepare various tax schedules needed for the partnership tax returns while working with outside tax advisors
  • Execute required quarterly tax schedule preparations and payments
  • Assist with potential lateral financial analysis
  • Manage and reconcile partner and tax balance sheet accounts
  • Help with distribution of various partner memos and K-1 packages
  • Assist with partner retirement plans
  • Various other ad hoc financial analysis items
  • Research and respond to partner questions
  • Other duties as required to fully meet the requirements of the position
