Senior Accountant II

Players HealthEdina, MN
$100,000 - $130,000Remote

About The Position

The Senior Accountant II is a senior individual contributor on a small, high-ownership finance team at a scaling insurance technology company. This role is the functional expert for all production accounting across our MGA and brokerage operations – owning the accuracy and integrity of premium, commission, and carrier settlement accounting from end-to-end. You’ll bring deep insurance accounting expertise and apply it in an environment where the processes, systems and controls are still being shaped. This is not a role where you inherit a fully built machine and maintain it - you’ll have the opportunity to evaluate what exists, identify what’s missing, and partner with leadership to build toward something more scalable and efficient. You’ll operate both hands-on and strategically, partnering closely with underwriting, operations, HR, and other departments. The ideal candidate has spent meaningful time in MGA, wholesale brokerage, or carrier accounting environments, understand the nuances of bordereaux reporting, trust accounting, and carrier settlements, and brings the mindset of a builder – someone who sees a manual process as an opportunity, not just a task. The Senior Accountant II has a compensation range of $100,000 - $130,000, depending on skills and experience. Players Health is a remote-first organization. This role has a preference for candidates located in the Minneapolis, MN area, as some in-person collaboration will be expected. Periodic travel may also be required for team events and development. You will join an organization going through significant growth as well as digital transformation. We instill a mindset of ownership and accountability with all team members, building a “playbook” for best practices – defining expectations to meet the vision and strategy for growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful experience in production or insurance accounting

  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive process improvements without direct authority
