About The Position

As a Senior Accountant in the Global Accounting group, you will play a central role in accounting operations within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Salesforce is looking for candidates with experience recording month-end close journal entries, evaluating transactions under US GAAP, executing controls, implementing process improvements, and preparing schedules to support financial reporting and the external audit. This role is primarily focused on, but not limited to, topics concerning compensation & benefits accounting. Exceptional candidates will be critical thinkers who take the initiative to problem solve and who welcome challenging projects and evolving priorities.

Requirements

  • BA in Accounting Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Table & VLOOKUP experience) and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to meet critical business deadlines
  • Strong time management, organizational, and ownership skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with Workday Financials or other large ERP
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Slackbot, and Claude
  • Accounting experience in a publicly traded company
  • Quick learner, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports)
  • Prepare consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet fluctuation analyses for management reporting
  • Provide analysis of financial results to management (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Perform internal control procedures and maintain compliance with SOX
  • Partner with internal and external business partners (domestic and international) to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Drive to continuously create efficiencies by identifying and implementing process improvements, automation, and AI tools
  • Ad-hoc projects as necessary
