Please complete the assessment using the link below when submitting your application: https://assessment.predictiveindex.com/bo/7FG6/SeniorAccountantCorporateAccounting The Blueprint Our Senior Accountant is a newly qualified CPA responsible for financial planning & analysis, the preparation of yearly and quarterly corporate financial statements, reports and tax returns for compliance and other special reports as required. As a Senior Accountant, they will act as a mentor to their colleagues and provide direction to departments on accounting and reporting issues.

Requirements

  • CPA with audit preparation experience in a small or medium-sized public accounting firm required.
  • Solid accounting (ASPE), corporate tax, and HST knowledge.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as TaxPrep and CaseWare.
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other employees.
  • Able to work independently and be a self-starter with the ability to initiate and co-ordinate projects.
  • Hands on and able to adapt to shifting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of yearly and quarterly corporate financial statements, reports and tax returns for compliance and other special reports as required.
  • Preparation of year-end files re: above in Caseware.
  • Prepare and manage preparation of annual budget and quarterly monthly budget vs. actual analysis and reforecasting
  • Prepare quarterly reporting package for presentation to the Board of Directors and executive leadership
  • Prepare monthly cashflow report
  • Approval of month end reporting, bank reconciliation, journal entries, accounts receivable and account payable invoices.
  • Involvement in corporate tax planning and execution of plans.
  • Provide direction to other departments re accounting and reporting issues.
  • Help improve financial systems to provide the required financial information in the most efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with external and internal clients concerning accounting and reporting issues.
  • Review HST returns prepared by Accountants.
  • Assist with special projects as required
