About The Position

This role is within the Assurance & Accounting - Public Companies team, dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide comprehensive, tailored financial information that enables clients to make informed decisions with confidence. Requirements

  • CPA designation
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian audit and accounting standards: Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and IFRS® Accounting Standards (IFRS), respectively
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software
  • Able to communicate fluently in Mandarin & English

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of US audit and accounting standards: standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), respectively, is considered a plus, but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct review, and audit engagements
  • Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
  • Manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Perform walk-throughs with clients for various business processes (including accounts receivable and revenue, accounts payable and expenses, capital assets, payroll, and financial reporting)
  • Summarize clients’ current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
  • Assess and assure appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and prepaid expenses
  • Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
  • Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
