Requirements

  • CPA designation obtained.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting and tax software.
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management, and business development principles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compilation, review, and audit engagements; provide bookkeeping and tax services.
  • Prepare files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple engagements simultaneously and conduct inventory counts.
  • Perform walkthrough testing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisitions and disposals, and payroll processes with clients.
  • Summarize the client’s current financial position by gathering information and preparing the balance sheet, income statement, and other relevant reports.
  • Evaluate and ensure the appropriateness of audit evidence supporting expenses, revenues, capital asset acquisitions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses.
  • Review and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial records, documents, and reports.
  • Develop charts of accounts and prepare journal entries for inclusion in the accounts.
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and key highlights.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients; mentor and guide less experienced team members.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
  • Be willing to travel as required.
