About The Position

Real Chemistry is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their growing Medical Affairs team. The Senior Account Manager for the Scientific and Medical Affairs team serves as the client's primary day-to-day contact, responsible for managing relationships and setting client expectations of the agency. This role ensures internal teams are informed and delivering effectively, while also considering future opportunities alongside current tasks. This is a hybrid role, open to candidates in any of Real Chemistry's US offices (New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco) or remote within the US, based on team and business requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4-5+ years of prior experience in healthcare agency client services roles with medical affairs, publications, and/or medical information experience required.
  • Highly organized with a mindfulness of deadlines, the ability to manage multiple tasks based on priorities and a strong attention to detail.
  • Independent thinker confident in taking ownership of assets and material development, but a team player who enjoys collaboration.
  • Professional presence, performs with a sense of urgency and with a client service orientation.
  • Confidence to manage upward when required; able to communicate with managers when deadlines will not be met or when issues are foreseeable.
  • High energy, able to effectively operate in a fast-paced, growing and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, with a track record of following through on client requests and with high-quality deliverables on schedule and on budget.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experienced in developing client relationships and networking.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Comprehension of project and account objectives, contributing to strategic planning.
  • Able to devise and articulate solutions to problems on an ongoing basis.
  • Able to clearly communicate project updates, scopes and recommendations to clients.
  • BA or equivalent work experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Veeva management and/or iEnvision experience recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact, providing regular status updates, responding to queries, and sharing recommendations after discussion with the account lead.
  • Manage client expectations regarding timelines and project scope.
  • Take client briefs and communicate them clearly to team members, implementing realistic project plans.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the account, including internal team meetings, workflow, task delegation, and job status across the account.
  • Oversee status reports to ensure all team actions are completed.
  • Take ownership and accountability for medium/large client projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the account lead regarding project progress, alerting them to any barriers and proactively proposing solutions.
  • Understand the client's business priorities and program strategy, including competitor activity.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in the medical communications and pharma industries.
  • Identify areas for growth, such as evolving existing programs or adding new tactics, and share new ideas with the team and client.
  • Keep abreast of market changes.
  • Be proactive regarding new business opportunities, flagging relevant experience and contributing ideas and support for credentials and pitch presentations.
  • Maintain a general understanding of account finances and support the account lead with financial management.
  • Support new business research and ideation, and participate in pitch presentations as needed.
  • Engage in continued professional development, working with a manager to identify training opportunities.
