About The Position

The Senior Account Manager, Client Relationship Management, Derivatives Trading, is pivotal to the Montreal Exchange’s mission of growing retail derivatives volume. You will drive adoption by building strategic relationships with key stakeholders—including brokers, trading desks, and universities—while positioning TMX as the leading authority in derivatives education. By delivering impactful content and learning opportunities, you will empower the next generation of derivative investors.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of the equity derivatives markets and the broader financial markets; minimum 8 years of relevant financial markets experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, administration with a major in finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Self starter with strong analytical and technical skills, including the use of AI
  • Proven ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment
  • Expertly explain and write about complex options strategies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse settings
  • Manage complex initiatives and cultivate high-level client relationships
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented and possess a strong business sense
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and occasionally outside of Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a Derivative Market Specialist designation, Certificate in Derivatives Market Strategies; or the desire to pursue said designation(s)
  • CFA or CAIA designation, an asset
  • Previous experience in trading and/or selling derivatives products an asset
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both French and English will be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase trading volumes of Canadian listed derivatives (Options and Futures) within the retail market.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with retail trading desks, online brokers, universities, and other external stakeholders across the retail ecosystem.
  • Oversee, review, and approve all educational content for retail investors—including webinars, articles for the "Option Matters" blog, and presentations—to ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, CRM, and Product teams to create and distribute client education and promotional content through social media and newsletters.
  • Monitor and track financial markets, derivative market structure, and retail trading volumes to provide insights and identify new market opportunities.
  • Leverage technology, including AI, to maximize educational impact and scale workload.
  • Manage the Options Trading Contest and assist Finance and Product teams with incentive rebate programs.
  • Conduct cross-training and ensure regular communication on progress and performance to senior management.
