The Role We are looking for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our San Francisco team, supporting a portfolio of leading cybersecurity and enterprise technology clients. As an SAE, you are a trusted communications professional who independently manages projects, drives media outcomes, and serves as a key day-to-day contact for clients. You understand how to translate complex technical topics into compelling narratives that resonate with business, technology, and security audiences. You thrive in fast-paced environments, proactively identify opportunities, and consistently deliver exceptional client service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys equal parts media relations, strategic storytelling, and account management. Beyond client work, you'll contribute to Archetype's continued growth by supporting new business opportunities, participating in pitches, and helping shape ideas that win new clients.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or integrated marketing
  • Previous agency experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, security, enterprise technology, cloud, infrastructure, networking, AI, or related technology clients
  • Proven track record securing meaningful media coverage and developing strong journalist relationships
  • Strong understanding of the cybersecurity media landscape and key industry conversations
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling stories for multiple audiences
  • Experience managing projects independently from strategy through execution
  • Confidence participating in client meetings and presenting recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience mentoring Associates, Coordinators, or Account Executives
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, AI, and the future of communications
  • Experience supporting new business initiatives, agency marketing efforts, or pitch development preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Willingness to work from our San Francisco office as part of a hybrid work environment
  • Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, and content production efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Drive media relations programs that generate consistent coverage, executive visibility opportunities, and thought leadership placements
  • Develop creative pitches tied to cybersecurity trends, threat intelligence, AI, risk management, privacy, and emerging technology conversations
  • Build and maintain relationships with business, technology, cybersecurity, and industry trade media
  • Draft press releases, bylines, blogs, messaging documents, briefing materials, award submissions, and executive communications
  • Monitor the cybersecurity, technology, and business landscape to identify proactive storytelling opportunities and emerging issues
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and client expectations are met
  • Lead development of meeting agendas, status reports, action trackers, and client updates
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations and day-to-day counsel to clients
  • Support executive thought leadership programs, speaking opportunities, and industry event strategies
  • Review junior staff work, providing feedback, coaching, and mentorship
  • Collaborate across earned, owned, social, and content programs to deliver integrated communications campaigns
  • Participate in new business opportunities through research, proposal development, brainstorms, competitive analysis, and pitch presentations
  • Contribute fresh ideas that help clients and prospects navigate evolving cybersecurity and technology narratives
  • Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, and content production efficiency
