Senior Account Executive, Team Lead - Membership Sales, New York Liberty

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment•New York, NY
•$70,000 - $75,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (BSE) is seeking a Senior Account Executive, Team Lead – Membership Sales for the New York Liberty. This is a player-coach role for a proven salesperson who wants to sell at a high level while beginning to lead people. The individual will be responsible for achieving aggressive new-business targets for full season memberships, partial plans, group memberships, and premium seating, while also directly overseeing a small team of Account Executives. The Team Lead is expected to out-produce the team they oversee and use that credibility to coach, guide, and hold accountable the reps reporting to them. This role is ideal for someone with leadership aspirations who has earned the right to manage by being a top seller. The position reports to the Director of Business Development.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience with a demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue goals; sports, entertainment, or premium hospitality sales strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience training, mentoring, or informally leading other sales reps (a top performer who others go to for help, a lead rep, a peer mentor, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong consultative selling skills across both transactional (membership) and higher-touch, longer-cycle (premium) products.
  • Comfort giving direct, constructive feedback and holding others accountable, not just closing your own deals.
  • Experience managing pipeline through a CRM (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the New York Liberty schedule and other Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment events.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Senior AE, Team Captain, Assistant Manager, or similar hybrid selling/leadership title.
  • Existing book of business in NYC metropolitan arena preferred.
  • Familiarity with premium/B2B sales motions (suites, hospitality, sponsorship, or enterprise sales).
  • A hunter first: you love prospecting, chasing the next deal, and the thrill of closing, and you have no interest in stepping fully off the phones.
  • A natural leader who other reps already gravitate toward for advice, energy, or a second opinion on a deal.
  • Competitive with yourself and with the team: you want the team to win as much as you want your own number to hit.
  • Direct and coachable: you can tell a teammate their pitch isn't working, and you can hear the same from your own manager.
  • Passionate about women's sports, live entertainment, and creating unforgettable fan experiences.
  • Comfortable operating in the gray area between IC and manager.

Responsibilities

  • Carry and consistently exceed a personal new-business quota across full/partial season memberships, group memberships, and premium seating products (suites, courtside, and other premium inventory).
  • Develop and execute outbound sales strategies through phone, email, text, networking, referrals, digital outreach, and in-person appointments to build and maintain a robust personal pipeline.
  • Identify and close cross-sell/upsell opportunities into Barclays Center concerts, family shows, and other live entertainment events.
  • Host prospective and current members and premium clients during Liberty games and assigned events, delivering a best-in-class experience from first contact through post-sale engagement.
  • Represent the New York Liberty at community events, networking functions, watch parties, and other fan engagement opportunities to generate new business.
  • Directly oversee a pod of Account Executives: set daily/weekly activity and revenue expectations and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Onboard and ramp new Account Executives, pairing them with scripts, playbooks, and hands-on floor coaching.
  • Partner with sales leadership on performance management: goal-setting, 1:1s, informal performance feedback, and input into hiring decisions for the pod.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between frontline reps and the Director above them — surfacing what's working, what's not, and where reps need support.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of New York Liberty ticket and premium products, Barclays Center events, promotions, scheduling, and industry trends, and translate that knowledge into team-wide talk tracks.
  • Build a personal pipeline and playbook rigorous enough to model for the team — the goal is to lead by example, not just by title.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and pipeline forecasting, both personally and in review of the team's activity.
