About The Position

BPCM is looking for a talented Senior Account Executive to join our Corporate & Lifestyle team. This role will support a varied portfolio of clients across industries including retail, fashion, beauty and technology, helping brands define and communicate compelling corporate and consumer narratives, strengthen their reputations and earn meaningful visibility with consumer, lifestyle, business and trade media. The ideal candidate is an energetic, proactive and collaborative communications professional with strong media relations skills, established editorial relationships and a sharp understanding of how earned media supports broader brand and business goals. This person will work alongside senior team members to develop communications plans, identify timely and creative story angles, manage day-to-day client needs and execute media strategies around corporate milestones, product launches, partnerships, events and executive thought-leadership. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in communications, public relations or marketing in an agency or in-house environment, with a proven track record of securing press coverage, drafting strong written materials and managing multiple work streams and priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of PR and/or Marketing experience working in an agency or in- house setting, ideally with sustainable brands
  • College degree – ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Established editorial relationships across sectors, such as business and consumer media
  • Knowledge of and interest in corporate reputation
  • Seasoned writing skills
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Proactively function as a friendly gatekeeper, handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Proactive about finding and presenting solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulously organized and detail oriented
  • Flexible in adapting to changing timelines and priorities
  • Proficient in MuckRack, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining strong editorial relationships across multiple levels, including business, retail, lifestyle, beauty, technology, and fashion editors
  • Securing strategic press coverage (features and long-form stories) in national and key regional magazines, newspapers, podcasts, TV, and online media outlets
  • Proactively pitch and secure editorial opportunities that advance corporate and brand narratives, strengthen reputation and position clients and their leaders at the forefront of their industries
  • Identify and secure speaking engagements, panels, awards, contributed content and other visibility opportunities for brands and executives
  • In partnership with supervisors, planning, developing, and advising clients on integrated and measurable PR strategies
  • Managing client initiatives and taking ownership of specific projects
  • Ensuring routine media inquiries are handled in a timely and efficient manner
  • Serving as a primary client contact with the proven ability to manage and drive multiple client account programs
  • Overseeing junior team members create, maintain and distribute editorial reports, press, and budgetary tracking documents in a timely manner
  • Demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; adept at developing rapport with clients to maintain strong working relationships
  • Responding to client requests promptly with enthusiasm and accuracy
  • Ensuring that key milestones and projects are on track, within prescribed timelines and are value-producing
  • Ideating, planning, and executing partnerships and activations
  • Advising clients on positioning and messaging, developing and/or editing brand communications to meet press-facing needs (including, but not limited to press releases, talking points, interview responses, etc.)
  • Reviewing media and reports compiled by junior team members on relevant client news and trends
  • Overseeing press credit reporting according to client preference
  • Drafting and contributing to press releases and client materials, such as Q&A’s and executive briefing materials, that encompass brand messaging and positioning
  • Support select senior executives’ LinkedIn presence by advising on strategy and developing content that amplifies company news, industry insights and executive perspectives
  • Overseeing creation, maintenance and timely distribution of editorial reports, press clippings and budgetary tracking documents
  • Exhibiting strong writing, communication, and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency, and colleagues
  • Directly managing day-to-day activities on multiple accounts
  • Managing and mentoring direct reports, to include interns
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff reporting into this role while maintaining close communication with Supervisors or Directors to ensure efficient prioritization and workflow
  • Directly managing day to day activities on assigned account
