About The Position

As a Senior Account Associate, Corporate Communications, you will be a key member of the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs team, contributing to the success of clients across various industries, including natural resources, mining, real estate development, healthcare, and government sectors. The role requires a strong executor and skilled writer with experience in digital asset creation, drafting internal communications, media relations, and working in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of communications/PR/digital marketing experience, either at an agency or in-house.
  • Excellent copywriting skills across marketing, digital, and communications needs.
  • Proven track record pitching media to secure media coverage.
  • Knowledge of the media and political landscape.
  • Strong knowledge or experience in communications or marketing.
  • Exceptional creativity – a great eye for a story, and the ability to come up with creative ways to use communications to engage stakeholders.
  • Industry awareness - a great understanding of the mentioned industries, current news, and policy updates that could impact clients and external communication.
  • Marketing skillset with experience in asset development and crafting marketing copy.
  • Resourcefulness - ability to find answers before seeking help from colleagues.
  • Ability to manage priorities and balance a deadline-driven workload with complete accuracy.
  • Extreme attention to detail and staying organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to contribute to a high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support in building smart corporate communications strategies that make an impact for clients and meet business objectives.
  • Develop and support content, events, and activations, and support outreach for advocacy and community engagement campaigns, including amplification through media and external communications.
  • Monitor media and public policy daily to track media mentions, relevant news coverage, and act on reactionary opportunities.
  • Build and maintain thorough, relevant, and up-to-date media lists.
  • Craft succinct and compelling pitches with a strong news angle.
  • Secure media coverage from pitches sent.
  • Find and track the coverage secured to share with clients.
  • Tailor pitches and pitching practices to the intended outlet/journalist.
  • Produce error-free coverage reports, including relevant and accurate metrics (ad values, impressions, etc.).
  • Draft and edit marketing copy for social media campaigns, print and digital assets.
  • Oversee graphic design projects and coordinate with in-house and third-party designers.
  • Coordinate and manage videography and photography shoots, including storyboard drafting and script writing.
  • Generate innovative ideas and solutions, and discuss reasons for unsuccessful pitches to develop forward-moving plans.
  • Strategize new ideas and ways of thinking when faced with a challenge or potential hurdle.
  • Provide strong in-the-moment recommendations to a client or internally.
  • Coordinate events and activations when required.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
