About The Position

We work with leading developers and publishers within the games and tech industry, providing support and solutions designed around individual needs and carried out by global experts. We’re looking for a passionate Senior 3D Environment Artist with strong experience creating and implementing game environments, ideally with experience in MMO production and Unity. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of gameplay-driven environment design, map composition, player navigation, modular environments, and environmental storytelling, while maintaining a high visual quality within technical and performance constraints. You should be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of environment tasks, and collaborating closely with Art, Design, and Technical teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience working on a variety of game development projects.
• Previous professional experience creating MMO environments in Unity.
• Strong experience with standard 3D packages and environment art workflows.
• Previous experience creating maps and environments in Unity for a mobile MMO.
• Experience creating blockouts and layouts efficiently, with a good understanding of gameplay flow, player navigation, and environment composition.
• A passion for video games and the ability to support and collaborate with other team members.
• Ability to provide guidance and support to teammates on environment art and specific 3D tasks.
• Highly autonomous in environment production and pipeline workflows within Unity.
• Strong awareness of the performance requirements and technical constraints of MMO mobile games in Unity.
• Proficient in using Substance Painter and other standard environment art tools.
• Ability to achieve expected visual quality and art direction even when concepts or blueprints are not fully defined.
• Good understanding of visual styles, references, and the requirements expected for different tasks and projects.
• Understanding of environment art pipelines, asset exporting, implementation, and process automation workflows.
• Good understanding of environment optimization, including LODs, draw calls, texture budgets, materials, and scene complexity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong reporting, estimation, and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of VFX and environmental effects will be highly valued.
• Technical Art knowledge or deeper Unity Engine technical skills will be highly valued.
• Automation, optimization, and workflow improvement skills will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Create and improve high-quality, game-ready 3D environments, including terrain, buildings, structures, props, landmarks, and other environmental elements.
• Define and improve the environment art pipelines used throughout the project, assist in mentoring and guiding junior artists, and contribute to estimations, planning, documentation, and production workflows.
• Work closely with Level Design and Game Design to create environments that support player navigation, gameplay flow, points of interest, encounter areas, and overall map composition.
• Create and refine blockouts and layouts efficiently, taking into consideration gameplay requirements, visual composition, scalability, and production constraints.
