About The Position

MACOM is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Semiconductor Test Technician to support wafer-level electrical test, inspection, and production activities in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. The technician will operate test systems, handle wafers safely, perform routine inspections, document results accurately, and help ensure that product moves through the fab with the required quality, reliability, and schedule discipline. This role requires strong attention to detail, good computer skills, effective communication, and the ability to follow controlled procedures in a fast-paced production setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, electrical test, inspection, electronics, medical device, aerospace, or another high-reliability manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and follow strict safety, quality, documentation, and procedural requirements.
  • Solid computer, basic math, written communication, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to enter data accurately and understand test results, specifications, and production documentation.
  • Ability to work a compressed work week shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including schedule flexibility based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with wafer-level electrical test, probe systems, parametric test, DC test, PCM test, metrology, AOI, inspection, or semiconductor manufacturing execution systems.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer handling, cleanroom practices, ESD controls, SPC, test specifications, and controlled documentation.
  • Experience identifying abnormal test results, equipment issues, product defects, or process concerns and escalating them appropriately.
  • Experience supporting engineering qualifications, product transfers, new tool releases, or process improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technicians, supervisors, engineers, equipment teams, and quality personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, load, operate, and monitor wafer-level electrical test equipment and related production tools in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Perform routine product testing, data collection, visual inspection, wafer handling, and disposition support while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Review test results, identify abnormal conditions, and escalate failures, trends, equipment issues, or documentation concerns to manufacturing leadership, engineering, equipment, or quality teams.
  • Follow cleanroom protocols, ESD requirements, chemical safety rules, PPE expectations, and all applicable manufacturing procedures.
  • Accurately enter data into manufacturing, test, quality, or tracking systems and support production priorities through clear communication and efficient work movement.
