Semiconductor Process Modeling Engineer

Lam Research•Tualatin, OR

About The Position

As a Process Modeling Engineer in Lam Research’s Office of the CTO, you will connect plasma science, process engineering, and predictive modeling to solve complex engineering challenges. Using Lam’s internal physics-based modeling software, you will build, calibrate, and validate models that capture how plasma etch and deposition processes shape wafer structures. You will apply expertise in process engineering, plasma physics, chemistry, and materials science to identify root causes, generate actionable insights, and help teams meet customer requirements. The role also involves training engineers to use modeling tools and partnering with developers to define new capabilities, test releases, and maintain product quality. Lam’s Office of the CTO focuses on innovation, emerging trends, critical inflections, and sustainability, Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices that will shape the next generation of semiconductors. Lam describes its work-location models as varying according to role needs; hybrid options include On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. The posting does not specify which model applies to this position.
