About The Position

Our client is seeking a Semiconductor Engineering Technician to join a second-shift team supporting advanced research and quantum technology initiatives in Yorktown Heights, NY. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to semiconductor-like processing used to create components for next-generation quantum computing technologies. Key responsibilities include electrical testing, functional tuning, process support, and detailed documentation in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent sample handling skills, and the ability to work with small, delicate components using specialized manual tooling.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience performing electrical measurements in a semiconductor, microelectronics, or related technical environment
  • Experience using wafer probers/prober tools
  • Ability to work independently and effectively on second shift (2:30 PM - 11:30 PM)
  • Experience with semiconductor or semiconductor-like processing steps
  • Strong manual dexterity and experience handling small, delicate, and sensitive components
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment, tools, and technical processes
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify process variability and potential yield-impacting issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Exposure to semiconductor fabrication, microelectronics, photonics, MEMS, or related technologies
  • Experience supporting research and development activities

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical testing and tuning on semiconductor wafers using prober tooling
  • Execute semiconductor-like processing steps in a cleanroom environment
  • Accurately document test results, process steps, observations, and technical data
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate process issues, sources of variability, and yield-impacting conditions
  • Organize workflow and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technical teams across various disciplines
  • Work independently while maintaining high levels of quality and productivity
  • Learn and operate new tools, equipment, and processes as project needs evolve
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication
