About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is hiring Semi-Skilled Operators for its Scranton, Pennsylvania team. The Semi-Skilled Operator works as part of a manufacturing line in the Production Shop, operating a variety of machines and producing parts within tolerance at the rate required for each operation. The role includes measuring manufactured products and following manufacturing, environmental, quality, documentation, and safety policies. Operators must be able to work the shift assigned based on seniority.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to complete basic math functions and attention to detail.
Ability to stand for eight hours during a work shift and wear personal protective equipment.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and security background check for a federal installation.
Must meet federal background requirements for the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant.

Nice To Haves

Industrial manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned production duties, including operating a mill flat machine, air testing parts, operating a band press machine, performing soldering operations, operating a turn brass machine, loading and unloading a bonderizer, painting inside diameters, and repairing parts.
Produce parts within tolerance and at the rate required by each operation.
Measure manufactured products accurately using appropriate techniques and hand measuring tools, template gages, flush pin gages, and other product-related measuring equipment.
Follow the Basic Rules of Manufacturing, the General Dynamics OTS Environmental Policy, ISO Documentation, the Quality Policy, and other work-related policies, especially safety protocols.
Work the shift assigned based on seniority.
