About The Position

Assemblers work under the direction of the Van Shop Supervisor to assemble specialty truck equipment for van body or box trucks. The work includes fitting and assembling components, measuring and cutting materials, installing floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures, and installing electrical wiring for vehicle lights and other equipment according to specified procedures. The position is based in a production facility and involves exposure to heat and cold, as well as standing, sitting and working in semi-confined spaces.

Requirements

• Basic carpentry skills.
• Ability to operate power hand tools and read a tape measure.

Nice To Haves

• Basic welding skills.
• Basic electrical wiring skills.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools, including drills and riveters.
• Measure and cut wood and metal materials.
• Install wood floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, brake lights and other equipment according to specified procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
