The Semi Driver is responsible for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw material with attention to prompt and efficient customer service. This role involves running established routes, picking up raw materials, weighing them in when returning to the plant, and weighing in and out of customer locations as needed. The driver is responsible for ensuring loads are tarped before leaving the plant or customer location and maintaining cleanliness at customer locations. Additionally, the driver is responsible for the company vehicle, keeping it in clean condition, and conducting all safety checks and inspections. The role requires operating the vehicle under state, federal, and local regulations, adhering to company policy and procedures, and observing all company safety rules. Maintaining excellent customer relations through a professional appearance and attitude is crucial. The driver must also complete all company-required paperwork, including route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, and service forms, and maintain and update the vehicle condition report daily. Compliance with DOT hours of service using an onboard computer is also a key responsibility.
